The most common type of alum is potassium alum (KAl(SO₄)₂·12H₂O), but there are several other variations of alum, including ammonium alum and sodium alum.

Features :

  • Chemical Composition: Typically a double sulfate compound of aluminum and another metal, such as potassium, ammonium, or sodium. Commonly found as a crystalline solid, often in the form of a white powder or colorless crystals.
  • Water Solubility: Soluble in water, forming a mildly acidic solution.
